About Me
From an early age, I have been deeply passionate about supporting and caring for mothers and babies. Growing up, I frequently assisted neighbors with their infants, babysat regularly, and worked as a newborn nanny throughout college. This hands-on experience inspired me to pursue a nursing degree specializing in mother/baby care and pediatrics. Over the course of 12+ years, I served as a registered nurse (RN), initially working in a hospital mother/baby unit and later a pediatric office setting. While I valued my nursing career, I recognized a strong desire to provide more personalized, comprehensive postpartum care that extends beyond hospital walls. The constraints of a traditional nursing role made it challenging to offer the continuous, family-centered support that new parents truly need during the critical postpartum period. I longed to be fully present with families, assisting them through the everyday transitions of life with a newborn in the comfort of their own home.
After welcoming my two children, I gained firsthand insight into the vital support families need during the postpartum period. This experience introduced me to the important role of postpartum doulas, inspiring me to transition from nursing to specialize as a postpartum doula. Since becoming a certified postpartum doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association), I have fully embraced this fulfilling career path.
As a postpartum doula, I provide evidence-based physical, informational, and emotional support tailored to routine newborn and postpartum care, without offering medical care or advice. Although I no longer practice as a registered nurse, I maintain an active nursing license. My extensive medical background and years of experience working with postpartum mothers and newborns equip me with a broad knowledge base, enabling me to recognize potential medical concerns and refer families to the appropriate healthcare professionals when necessary.
Drawing from my expertise as a former newborn and postpartum nurse, I offer families valuable tips, strategies, and hands-on support to navigate the challenges of early parenthood with confidence and ease.
I am grateful to offer dedicated postpartum doula care, providing extended nurturing support to families during the postpartum period. I recognize that this time is both beautiful and challenging. With my professional experience and personal journey as a mother, I bring valuable knowledge, insight, and understanding to support your family effectively. It would be my privilege to assist your family through this special stage.
